Lexington County Communications Center charges a fee for all 911 tape and/or incident report requests.
This fee is necessary due to the overwhelming amount of requests for 911 tapes and CAD (Computer Aided Dispatch) incident reports, along with the rising cost of researching, reproducing and managing these requests. The fee scale is as follows:
One (1) CD along with a copy of the CAD Incident Report $35.00 (Notary services available at no additional charge)
Each additional CD $ 5.00
CAD Incident Reports $ 5.00
Checks should be made payable to: The County of Lexington
911 tapes are available for 90 days from the time of the call. CAD incident reports may be available longer than 90 days. All requests must include the approximate time and date the 911 call was placed. All requests must be accompanied by an FOIA “Freedom of Information Act” letter or subpoena.
