Thank you for your interest in a career with the Lexington County Fire Service (LCFS). Firefighting is a rewarding and exciting career that focuses on public service, public safety, pride, and professionalism.
The first step to becoming a career firefighter with the County of Lexington is completion of an extensive hiring process and a twelve to fourteen week-long Firefighter Recruit Program. This document outlines the pre-employment processes and provides the reader with the rules and regulations that are required of a recruit firefighter with LCFS.

Volunteer Firefighter Program
The Lexington County Fire Service welcomes citizens that wish to serve their community in the capacity of a volunteer firefighter. Lexington County Volunteer Firefighters are held to many of the same standards as the career staff, and are required to complete and maintain the same state and federal mandated trainings and certification.
