General Information

The Lexington County Register of Deeds (ROD) office is a recording and public service office. The primary function of the ROD office is to record, maintain and preserve all land records for the County and make them readily available for public viewing. All recording of documents must be in accordance with South Carolina laws and County ordinances. Documents recorded by the ROD office include deeds, mortgages, mortgage satisfactions, powers of attorney, mechanic’s liens, tax liens, plats, uniform commercial code filings and other real property transactions.

The ROD office also assists the public with inquiries concerning land records. We welcome your questions and will do our best to find the answers to them. If you do not find the information you are looking for at this site, please come by our office, call us, or email us at dgunter@lex-co.com.

All records in the Register of Deeds office are Public Record and are available in our office as well as being available online. Our online information includes data from 8/1/1984 through the current date, and images of documents are available from 1/1/1998 through the current date.
