“Revolutionary Correspondence: The Letters, Life, and Legacy of Henry Laurens” Lunch and Learn

Come out to the Lexington County Museum to learn about the Founding Father Henry Laurens. Lunch will be provided.
This program, presented by Annette Guild of the South Carolina Historical Society, explores the life and legacy of Henry Laurens through his extensive personal, political, and business correspondence held by the SC Historical Society. Participants will learn about Laurens’ rise from Charleston merchant to prominent Revolutionary leader, examine key moments documented in his letters, and consider his complex role in the founding of the nation. The program will also highlight current digitization efforts that are expanding public access to these important historical records and bringing Laurens’ story to new audience. This program is presented in conjunction with the SC Historical Society and the SC Sestercennial Commission. This is a free event but registration is required. It’s All About Herbs Herb Fest

Join the Lexington County Herb Bunch on Saturday April 11th from 9 am to 3 pm for the 14th Annual “It’s All About Herbs” Festival. Festival admission is free for all. The festival will feature herbs, vegetables, baked goods, educational presentations, and local vendors. Proceeds raised by the Herb Bunch will go towards a scholarship given to a Lexington County student who will further their studies in agriculture and horticulture science.
