All records in the Register of Deeds office are Public Record and most are available online. Online Records includes data from 8/1/1984 through current date with images of documents available from 1/1/1997 through current date.

Persons preparing or filing documents to be recorded in The Lexington County Register of Deeds Office may not include, Social Security , Driver's License , State Issued ID, Passport, Checking or Savings Account, Credit or Debit Card which includes debit card number, or personal identification (PIN) code, or passwords in the document, unless expressly required by law. Individuals have the right to request The Register of Deeds to remove an image or copy of an official record placed on Lexington County's ROD Online Search Portal used by ROD to display public records with the following personal information,
Social Security - Driver's License - State Issued ID Passport Checking or Savings Account Credit or Debit Card which includes debit card number, or personal identification (PIN) code, or passwords contained in an official record.
All request must be made in writing, delivered by mail, electronic transmission (email) or in person, to The Register of Deeds. The request must specify book and page number that contains personal information listed above in order to be redacted.
There is no fee for the redaction pursuant to request.
