Curbside Solid Waste Collection

Franchise Residential Solid Waste Curbside Collection in the unincorporated areas of Lexington County will be picking up on regular schedule during the week of Christmas and New Year’s Day.  Curbside materials will be picked up early on Friday, December 23 so residents with regular pick-up service on Fridays are asked to place all materials at the curb on Thursday night, December 22.  This includes service provided by:

Collection and Recycling Centers

All 11 Collection and Recycling Centers will be closed on Sunday, December 25, 2022 (Christmas Day) and Sunday, January 1, 2023 (New Year’s Day).  They will be closing early for Christmas Eve, with hours from 7:00am- 1:00pm on Saturday, December 24th, 2022. They will otherwise operate on a normal schedule, being open Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Sundays from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m.  The Centers are closed on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Lexington County Edmund Landfill

The Lexington County Edmund Landfill, located at 429 Landfill Lane in the Edmund community will close at 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 24, 2022 (Christmas Eve) and will be closed on Christmas Day, Sunday, December 25, 2022 and on New Year’s Day, Sunday, January 1, 2023.  It will otherwise be open as usual, Monday to Saturday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  The landfill is closed on Sundays.

Solid Waste Administrative Offices

The administrative offices of the Lexington County Department of Solid Waste Management will be closed Friday, December 23, Monday, December 26 and Tuesday, December 27, 2022 in observance of the Christmas holiday and on Monday, January 2, 2023, in observance of New Year’s Day.
